The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
If Bell pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.

A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Daniels at No. 8, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Amarius Mims at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Johnny Wilson. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They reached into another round for Jaheim Bell, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jordan Travis in pick 139 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaylen Harrell in the 182nd pick, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
