Start where it matters. The Raiders took Michael Penix Jr. to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Bell makes the weekend a net positive. They are betting Hall proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 9 they get the face of the franchise at fair value.
A quiet steal in slot 44: Xavier Legette for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They took Cooper Beebe at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jarrian Jones a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Value with a capital V on Jaheim Bell in No. 150, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reach on Gabe Hall in Round 6, Pick 15; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Jeremy Flax at pick No. 234, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
