The Broncos put a flag in the ground for Keaten Wade, 260 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The Roush pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Adding Austin Ekeler by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Taking Eli Stowers in the Round 4 slot is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Keaten Wade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Albert Regis in Round 5, Pick 30 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tight end of that caliber at No. 246 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
