The Colts treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending No. 214 on Clayton Smith a full 199 spots early. The final tally is a middling C+.
On value alone, Klubnik makes the weekend a net positive. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

They reached a country mile for Taurean York at the Round 3 slot, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Chandler Rivers all the way to Round 4, Pick 13, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
They reached into another round for Robert Spears-Jennings, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Clayton Smith at No. 214 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Mikail Kamara at the 249th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
