You can hear the double-takes from here. The Jets took Korey Foreman at the Round 5 slot, roughly 196 spots before his name belonged.
The whole projection now runs through Ty Simpson; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get the face of the franchise, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In slot 16 they get a double-digit-sack hope. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A real head-scratcher, Malachi Fields in the Round 2 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A wild overpay on Aiden Fisher in No. 103, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Eric O'Neill at the 140th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They talked themselves into Korey Foreman at the 179th pick, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Reggie Grimes II. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jack Pyburn in the 242nd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
