The rest of the league had time to spare on Jordan Hall; the Ravens did not wait, grabbing him 120 spots ahead at Round 6, Pick 28. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Fitzgerald pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 14 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They let Antonio Williams come to them and pounced at slot 80. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
LT Overton in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
A reach for Aamil Wagner in No. 154; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A wild overpay on Tyler Onyedim in the 162nd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Hall well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Somehow Bishop Fitzgerald was still sitting there in pick No. 210, and they pounced on premier safety value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Steal is underselling it; Matt Gulbin at slot 211 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
VJ Payne in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
