The war room fell hard for Nohl Williams, and it showed at slot 203: 39 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Watts at that price is a win they earned.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a No. 1 receiver, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Xavier Watts at pick 61 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Quinshon Judkins at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Emery Jones Jr. in slot 146, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They reached a country mile for Nohl Williams at No. 203, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Nick Nash in the 236th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had cheaper options than Cooper Mays at No. 247, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
