The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
However the rest shakes out, Scott at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.
They are betting Gill-Howard proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
R1.25
· Pick 25
· Kenyon Sadiq
· TE
· rank 17
In pick 25 they get a red-zone target to build around, and a steal at that.
R2.10
· Pick 42
· Malachi Lawrence
· DE-EDGE
· rank 54
A conviction pick on Malachi Lawrence at Round 2, Pick 10 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.9
· Pick 73
· Chase Bisontis
· OG
· rank 53
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 73 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.25
· Pick 89
· Bryce Lance
· WR
· rank 96
Bryce Lance at the 89th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.34
· Pick 98
· Michael Taaffe
· S
· rank 71
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Michael Taaffe in pick No. 98, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.14
· Pick 114
· Keionte Scott
· CB
· rank 63
They robbed the room for Keionte Scott here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.32
· Pick 132
· Trey Zuhn III
· C
· rank 127
They did well to land Trey Zuhn III in the 132nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.37
· Pick 137
· Skyler Gill-Howard
· DT
· rank 153
They paid up for Skyler Gill-Howard at pick No. 137 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.38
· Pick 178
· Travis Burke
· OT
· rank 174
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 5 slot with a little surplus value in Travis Burke. It fills a real need, too.
R6.9
· Pick 190
· Kevin Coleman Jr.
· WR
· rank 166
They barely believed it either: Kevin Coleman Jr. still on the board at No. 190. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.16
· Pick 197
· Cole Payton
· QB
· rank 202
By-the-book stuff, Cole Payton at slot 197 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
