Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Eagles to leave a draft. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Jones steal is the beam this whole class leans on. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at Round 2, Pick 22 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They let Eli Stowers come to them and pounced at pick 68. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bryce Lance. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Logan Jones slipping to the 114th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Kaleb Proctor at No. 137 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nice patience on Louis Moore, who had no business lasting to pick No. 178. A need, and now a little less of one.
Fair-plus on DJ Campbell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
