The Eagles looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Dominic Zvada at No. 211 regardless, 56 picks early. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Getting Scott where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
Emmanuel Pregnon at slot 54 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Lee Hunter at the 66th overall pick is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value said wait; Anthony Lucas in pick No. 68 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Caden Curry at the 96th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Keionte Scott in pick 98, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Fair-plus on Bryce Lance, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Keagen Trost a notch or two before his time. It fills a real need, too.
A reach on Kevin Coleman Jr. in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tidy little value on Louis Moore in the 151st overall pick, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Matt Gulbin in No. 179. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Mason Reiger in pick No. 182 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reach for Raylen Wilson in slot 201; a little patience would have been rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dominic Zvada this early at the 211th pick. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
