The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.
Rourke at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They are betting Bryant proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Puka Nacua gives the group a proven body among the projects.
If Nick Emmanwori and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that.
A straight-up fair deal on Chris Paul Jr. at Round 3, Pick 26, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No edge and no loss on Charles Grant in the 96th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
A conviction pick on Jared Wilson at pick 100 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Oronde Gadsden II at the Round 4 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reach on DJ Giddens in No. 162; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Cobee Bryant in No. 166, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Kurtis Rourke in pick No. 169 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
JJ Pegues at pick 192 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
