The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.
They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wright has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hecht.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a seam-stretching tight end. A real need, handled.
They paid up for Joshua Josephs at pick No. 32 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Jonah Coleman in pick 64, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nothing to complain about; Logan Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Sam Hecht at the 114th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kaleb Proctor in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had Malik Benson higher than pick 153, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at the 169th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Keagen Trost in No. 178 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They liked Jeremiah Wright enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 6, Pick 16. The roster fit checks out.
Jadon Canady at slot 210 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
