Philadelphia Eagles

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Eagles and Trost: D-.

by Philly V · 2026 NFL Draft · 13 picks · 3 steals · 3 reaches
Value B-
Need B
Trades F
Future C+

The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Reaching for Lawrence left real value on the table behind him. They banked enough surplus on Trost to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.23 · Pick 23 · Kenyon Sadiq · TE · rank 19
In the 23rd pick they get a seam-stretching tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Blake Miller · OT · rank 45
No drama and no debate, Blake Miller went about where he belonged in pick 45. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Malachi Lawrence · DE-EDGE · rank 71
They paid up for Malachi Lawrence at the 54th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.16 · Pick 80 · Elijah Sarratt · WR · rank 76
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Elijah Sarratt. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.14 · Pick 114 · Bud Clark · S · rank 103
They read the board right and Bud Clark was the payoff at No. 114. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.19 · Pick 119 · Caden Curry · DE-EDGE · rank 130
They jumped the gun on Caden Curry, taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.37 · Pick 137 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 132
Good price on Harold Perkins Jr. in the 137th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
R5.13 · Pick 153 · Charles Demmings · CB · rank 148
Charles Demmings at the 153rd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.14 · Pick 154 · Beau Stephens · OG · rank 158
No edge and no loss on Beau Stephens in Round 5, Pick 14; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
R5.38 · Pick 178 · Matt Gulbin · C · rank 181
Matt Gulbin at pick No. 178 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.16 · Pick 197 · Bobby Jamison-Travis · DT · rank 207
A reach for Bobby Jamison-Travis in pick 197; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.19 · Pick 200 · Keagen Trost · OT · rank 182
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 200 is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.30 · Pick 211 · Cole Payton · QB · rank 193
They will replay Cole Payton at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
