Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Every board in the league had Cohen lower, and that gap is the story.

Landing Hopper that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Jared Verse · DE-EDGE · rank 16
In pick 16 they get juice off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.22 · Pick 22 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 13
In No. 22 they get an island corner, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Jackson Powers-Johnson · C · rank 51
Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 50th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Ja'Tavion Sanders · TE · rank 54
Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 54th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 72
No drama and no debate, Brandon Dorlus went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 9. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.18 · Pick 118 · Malik Washington · WR · rank 119
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malik Washington. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.33 · Pick 133 · James Williams · S · rank 134
They took James Williams at par in Round 4, Pick 33, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 141
Luke McCaffrey at No. 137 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.4 · Pick 140 · Javion Cohen · OG · rank 149
Javion Cohen in slot 140 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
R5.18 · Pick 154 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 155
A straight-up fair deal on Braelon Allen at the 154th pick, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.30 · Pick 166 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 164
By-the-book stuff, Joe Milton III at pick 166 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 153
Ty'Ron Hopper at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
