Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Eagles, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Trost reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Koziol.

They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.23 · Pick 23 · Chris Brazzell II · WR · rank 29
In No. 23 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R1.31 · Pick 31 · Akheem Mesidor · DL-EDGE · rank 37
Akheem Mesidor at pick 31 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Eli Stowers · TE · rank 52
By-the-book stuff, Eli Stowers at slot 54 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Logan Jones · C · rank 88
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Logan Jones in the Round 3 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.22 · Pick 122 · Bishop Fitzgerald · S · rank 117
Bishop Fitzgerald in the 122nd overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.37 · Pick 137 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 129
Harold Perkins Jr. slipping to Round 4, Pick 37 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R5.8 · Pick 148 · Beau Stephens · OG · rank 152
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Beau Stephens. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.13 · Pick 153 · Kevin Coleman Jr. · WR · rank 156
Kevin Coleman Jr. in the 153rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.29 · Pick 169 · Keagen Trost · OT · rank 178
Keagen Trost at slot 169 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.31 · Pick 171 · Tanner Koziol · TE · rank 157
They read the board right and Tanner Koziol was the payoff at No. 171. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.38 · Pick 178 · Taylen Green · QB · rank 181
No edge and no loss on Taylen Green in the 178th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.34 · Pick 215 · Antonio Kite · CB · rank 222
Antonio Kite in Round 6, Pick 34 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
