Philadelphia Eagles

Grand theft in the 98th pick: the Eagles steal Ramsey and grade out a B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Eagles came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The veteran additions, CeeDee Lamb chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Mesidor has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.23 · Pick 23 · Akheem Mesidor · DE-EDGE · rank 37
In pick 23 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Eli Stowers · TE · rank 56
Value with a capital V on Eli Stowers in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Kamari Ramsey · S · rank 78
Kamari Ramsey at pick No. 98 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Logan Jones · C · rank 97
The board fumbled Logan Jones all the way to slot 116, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.37 · Pick 137 · Charles Demmings · CB · rank 151
They went early on Charles Demmings in No. 137, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.8 · Pick 148 · Skyler Gill-Howard · DT · rank 153
Skyler Gill-Howard in Round 5, Pick 8 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.29 · Pick 169 · Beau Stephens · OG · rank 161
The board had Beau Stephens higher than pick No. 169, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.38 · Pick 178 · Kevin Coleman Jr. · WR · rank 166
Nice patience on Kevin Coleman Jr., who had no business lasting to No. 178. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.7 · Pick 188 · J'Mari Taylor · RB · rank 195
No edge and no loss on J'Mari Taylor in the 188th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.14 · Pick 195 · Keagen Trost · OT · rank 184
A slide stopped in slot 195, with Keagen Trost worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.16 · Pick 197 · Cole Payton · QB · rank 202
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cole Payton. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.29 · Pick 210 · Justin Jefferson · LB · rank 209
They took Justin Jefferson at par in pick 210, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
