Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Eagles never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
The Reese pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a three-down second-level presence, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Nothing to complain about; D'Angelo Ponds went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Eli Stowers at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Bryce Lance at the 98th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bud Clark in slot 114. A need, and now a little less of one.
Kaleb Proctor in pick 137 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Travis Burke at the 178th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Anez Cooper at pick No. 197. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
