There is reaching, and then there is Joshua Braun at Round 6, Pick 16. The Eagles jumped the board by 95 and dared it to prove them wrong.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Stribling steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a seam-stretching tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the 54th pick, where Emmanuel McNeil-Warren graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Gabe Jacas slipping to the 68th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing De'Zhaun Stribling in pick 113. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Dametrious Crownover in pick No. 116 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A wild overpay on Taylen Green in No. 137, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nothing to complain about; Domani Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Joshua Braun in Round 6, Pick 16 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
