The Eagles treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending No. 114 on Mikail Kamara a full 41 spots early.
The Everette value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at pick No. 54 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
A big swing on Sam Roush at the 68th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Daylen Everette at No. 98 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They reached a country mile for Mikail Kamara at the 114th overall pick, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid a round early for Dametrious Crownover in the Round 4 slot, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
They went early on Taylen Green in the 178th pick, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Fair-plus on Jeff Caldwell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
