The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Tyler Guyton, slot 53, roughly 22 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Boyd has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Xavier Legette in pick No. 50, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Tyler Guyton at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jalyx Hunt a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They went early on Decamerion Richardson in slot 161, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reasonable price with a little left over, AJ Barner in the 171st overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach for Khristian Boyd in Round 5, Pick 36; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Kimani Vidal in the 210th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
