There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Dolphins never got to the one that mattered most.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Powers-Johnson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early.
A slide stopped in No. 55, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mason McCormick at the Round 5 slot is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jordan Jefferson in the 184th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jared Wiley at Round 6, Pick 23 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Michael Barrett at pick No. 241 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
