There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Dolphins started one anyway for Trey Knox, 39 picks ahead of schedule. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Landing McMillan that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
Braden Fiske in pick No. 55 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Khyree Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
The board fumbled Jalen McMillan all the way to slot 126, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had Ainias Smith higher than pick 158, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A real head-scratcher, Trey Knox in No. 184 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Trente Jones at the 198th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Frank Gore Jr. at Round 7, Pick 21 is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
