The Dolphins ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
They are betting Keegan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Oladapo falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Tyler Guyton in slot 41; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Zach Frazier at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick 88 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Jarrian Jones, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Nice patience on Luke McCaffrey, who had no business lasting to the 155th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Kitan Oladapo still on the board at pick No. 199. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Trevor Keegan in No. 221 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Erick All at par in Round 7, Pick 11, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They went early on Marcus Harris in slot 239, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 248 with a little surplus value in Blake Watson. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
