You could see the war room lean forward. Eli Stowers at Round 3, Pick 21 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Kamara proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Caleb Lomu at pick No. 27 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jake Slaughter at pick 76 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Circle this one: Eli Stowers at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A slide stopped in the 127th pick, with Keylan Rutledge worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Mikail Kamara at the 133rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A premium they did not need to pay, Skyler Gill-Howard a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
