B+
Dallas Cowboys
Nobody dealt better than the Cowboys this weekend: B+.

2025 NFL Draft
· 12 picks
· 4 steals
· 5 reaches
Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cowboys spent pick 209 on Paris Shand, a name most had 89 spots down the list.
Landing Reid that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
Luther Burden III at the Round 1 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Jalon Walker at the 46th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Malaki Starks was still sitting there in pick No. 49, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Deone Walker at Round 3, Pick 12 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
A running back of that caliber at the 117th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Connor Colby at pick 148 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Simeon Barrow Jr. at par in No. 168, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jacob Parrish in the 170th overall pick, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached into another round for Anthony Belton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They talked themselves into DJ Uiagalelei at the 187th pick, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Paris Shand in pick No. 209 says they were not listening. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Karene Reid in Round 7, Pick 31 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
