They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Adam Randall, 42 picks early at pick No. 241.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took McCutchin Sr.. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a three-down second-level presence, and a steal at that.
They will replay Anthony Hill Jr. at slot 57 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
The board had Jacob Rodriguez higher than the 60th pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Connor Lew in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Tacario Davis at Round 4, Pick 25 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
DeMonte Capehart at No. 129 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jaeden Roberts in No. 131 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Robert Spears-Jennings in slot 239, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A wild overpay on Adam Randall in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Circle this one: Latrell McCutchin Sr. at the 257th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
