Somewhere a general manager is explaining how TreVeyon Henderson got past him. The Patriots do not have to explain a thing at Round 5, Pick 6. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy bit of business in the 29th overall pick, where Nick Emmanwori graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nice patience on Emeka Egbuka, who had no business lasting to slot 38. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 143 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Taking Oronde Gadsden II in Round 5, Pick 20 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 207 with a little surplus value in Jacob Parrish. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
