Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Cowboys to leave a draft. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Every board in the league had Ulofoshio lower, and that gap is the story. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid up for Jordan Morgan at the 24th pick when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zach Frazier at the 56th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Bucky Irving in slot 87; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jordan Jefferson a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Michael Barrett. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick 233 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Jordan Whittington at par in pick No. 244, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
