The Cowboys spent the pick that matters most on Jalen Milroe, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Every board in the league had Sanders lower, and that gap is the story. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

In Round 1, Pick 31 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Shilo Sanders in No. 62 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Raheim Sanders at pick No. 94 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for J.J. Weaver. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Thor Griffith at the 158th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
