You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cowboys took Zion Logue at slot 233, roughly 53 spots before his name belonged.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Getting Wallace where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Devontez Walker at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 87 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A real head-scratcher, Tommy Eichenberg in No. 123 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A conviction pick on Tanor Bortolini at Round 5, Pick 38 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Frank Gore Jr. at the 216th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
