This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tre Harris, the No. 69 name on the board, stolen at the 101st pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The back end got a real overhaul. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
Travis Hunter in slot 7 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Harold Perkins Jr. in pick No. 36 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 68th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Evan Stewart in the 71st pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jordan Hancock at pick 73 is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Tre Harris in No. 101 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
