Nobody else had Caden Curry anywhere near Round 3, Pick 11. The Dolphins did, by 50 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Bisontis steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Spending an early pick on cornerback with interior defensive lineman and running back open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a matchup weapon at tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Dillon Thieneman in the 43rd overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor itch, scratched.
Nice patience on Jake Slaughter, who had no business lasting to the 70th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Caden Curry at slot 75 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Devin Moore with interior defensive lineman and running back unsolved.
Tyreak Sapp at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid up for Markel Bell at pick No. 92 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay Chase Bisontis at No. 94 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Ted Hurst in Round 4, Pick 12; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Bryce Lance come to them and pounced at pick 130. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reach for Bryce Boettcher in the 151st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Taylen Green. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy little value on Jeff Caldwell in slot 220, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Trey Zuhn III in slot 227 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
A clean, defensible pick in the 238th overall pick with a little surplus value in Andre Fuller. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
