The Drew Allar pick is the one that will follow the Cardinals into the fall. They took him 59 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
They banked enough surplus on Mondon Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
Hit on Jonah Savaiinaea and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

In No. 22 they get a building block for the line, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Drew Allar at the 53rd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Smael Mondon Jr. was still sitting there in slot 84, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Rylie Mills. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ricky White III this early at the 157th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
