The rest of the league will want that one back. Jalon Daniels tumbling to the Commanders in pick No. 174 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Burch has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Tetairoa McMillan in pick No. 4; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Fair-plus on Tacario Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They did well to land Ajani Cornelius in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached into another round for Jordan Burch, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A straight-up fair deal on Nick Emmanwori at pick 141, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Damien Martinez in the 164th overall pick, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Circle this one: Jalon Daniels at slot 174 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
