The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Chris Braswell, the No. 53 name on the board, sitting there at slot 88 like a gift left on the doorstep. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Every board in the league had Gore Jr. lower, and that gap is the story. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 28 they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 30th pick they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Amarius Mims in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Circle this one: Chris Braswell at Round 3, Pick 25 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They robbed the room for Renardo Green here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They did well to land Jarrian Jones in the 128th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 169, where Mason McCormick graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Marist Liufau still on the board at No. 198. A minor need, but a need all the same.
You do not let a quarterback like Joe Milton III reach No. 245 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They went early on Frank Gore Jr. in Round 7, Pick 35, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
