The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kalen King, the Round 7 slot, roughly 41 picks past where he belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Every board in the league had Allen lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

In the 24th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zach Frazier. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A big swing on Braelon Allen at slot 87, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
James Williams at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jaylan Ford in Round 6, Pick 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kalen King at No. 233 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
