Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Brennan Presley. He came off 79 spots early, and the room will hear about it. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C.
Smith falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
If Charles Grant and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a building block for the line, a steep price for the projection.
They reached into another round for Ajani Cornelius, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
They reached a country mile for Mello Dotson at slot 90, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A real head-scratcher, Joshua Gray in the 127th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Brashard Smith in Round 5, Pick 23, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Brennan Presley at No. 202 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy little value on Ben Yurosek in pick No. 250, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
