The Cowboys bet big and early on Hunter Nourzad, 36 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Jones pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Jordan Morgan at the 24th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
T'Vondre Sweat in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Marist Liufau at pick No. 87 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid up for Cedric Gray at Round 4, Pick 25 when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A real head-scratcher, Michael Wiley in the 173rd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Hunter Nourzad at pick 213 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Myles Jones at pick 242 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
