The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named interior defensive lineman, a need the Giants walked right past. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Reaching for Haynes left real value on the table behind him. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Ladd McConkey at Round 2, Pick 7 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Xavier Worthy at No. 47 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They liked Christian Haynes enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 70. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dominick Puni at pick 107 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Javion Cohen in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
