The tape said wait; the Packers did not. Frank Crum went at slot 257, a good 37 picks before the board was ready.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The trade work was a quiet net positive. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
