The Falcons spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Skyler Bell, the No. 86 name on the board, in the 120th pick. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Every board in the league had Fa'amoe lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy bit of business in No. 60, where D'Angelo Ponds graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jake Golday in pick No. 84 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Steal is underselling it; Josiah Trotter at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Skyler Bell all the way to pick 120, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Ted Hurst still on the board at the 122nd overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Michael Trigg slipping to the 129th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Aaron Graves in Round 6, Pick 34 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Fa'alili Fa'amoe, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nolan Rucci in the 255th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
