The Commanders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jawhar Jordan at the 222nd pick regardless, 57 picks early.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Tampa at that price is a win they earned.
If JC Latham and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, JC Latham went about where he belonged in No. 11. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
In pick No. 23 they get a building block for the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Bo Nix in pick 36. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Ja'Tavion Sanders at slot 40 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
T.J. Tampa in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on Mike Sainristil in Round 3, Pick 14, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They talked themselves into Michael Pratt at No. 100, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Christian Jones at slot 139 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jha'Quan Jackson. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jawhar Jordan in pick No. 222, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
