The Dolphins bet big and early on Evan Anderson, 41 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
However the rest shakes out, Beebe at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get a cornerstone up front at fair value.
They will replay Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 1 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in No. 101 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
By-the-book stuff, Michael Pratt at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Nelson Ceaser at pick 158, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good price on Isaiah Williams in the 184th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid up for Zion Tupuola-Fetui at slot 198 when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Evan Anderson in Round 7, Pick 21, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
