You could see the war room lean forward. De'Corian Clark at the 256th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The cost of the Eguakun reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Taliese Fuaga · OT · rank 17
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.24 · Pick 56 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 79
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Christian Mahogany well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 50
Steal is underselling it; Graham Barton at pick No. 90 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.3 · Pick 139 · Layden Robinson · OG · rank 167
They reached a country mile for Layden Robinson at pick 139, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.24 · Pick 160 · Delmar Glaze · C · rank 173
A conviction pick on Delmar Glaze at No. 160 that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 147
You do not let a wide receiver like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint reach the 171st pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Kingsley Eguakun · C · rank 222
They talked themselves into Kingsley Eguakun at the 173rd overall pick, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.38 · Pick 213 · Zakhari Franklin · WR · rank 229
A reach on Zakhari Franklin in Round 6, Pick 38; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.3 · Pick 223 · Michael Barrett · LB · rank 184
They will replay Michael Barrett at pick No. 223 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.4 · Pick 224 · Darius Muasau · LB · rank 223
No edge and no loss on Darius Muasau in slot 224; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.22 · Pick 242 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 231
Steele Chambers at pick 242 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 200
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, De'Corian Clark in the 256th overall pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
