The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Caedan Wallace, the No. 213 name on the board, sitting there at slot 255 like a gift left on the doorstep.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Every board in the league had Rogers lower, and that gap is the story.

Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
