You build a draft on nights like this. Kamal Hadden had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 2, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

They are betting Milton III proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.

They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 22
In pick 24 they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.4 · Pick 36 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
Dallas Turner in the 36th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R2.8 · Pick 40 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 39
Darius Robinson at the 40th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.3 · Pick 67 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 67 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.37 · Pick 100 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 118
A real head-scratcher, Blake Fisher in the Round 3 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.6 · Pick 106 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Roger Rosengarten. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.3 · Pick 139 · Jordan Travis · QB · rank 172
Jordan Travis at Round 5, Pick 3 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.10 · Pick 146 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Joe Milton III well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.16 · Pick 152 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 145
Tommy Eichenberg at pick 152 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R6.7 · Pick 182 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 161
Dwight McGlothern at the Round 6 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.2 · Pick 222 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 168
They robbed the room for Kamal Hadden here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
