The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Dominic Zvada, taking him 62 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Slaughter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
