The Eagles ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Ponds falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Myles Garrett gives the group a proven body among the projects.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordyn Tyson in slot 25. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is a better player than pick No. 54 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Taking D'Angelo Ponds in Round 3, Pick 4 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in the 89th pick, where Keylan Rutledge graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Sam Roush. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on Keyshaun Elliott in pick 114; the board had better options right there. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Aamil Wagner in the 178th pick is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Matt Gulbin in No. 197. It fills a real need, too.
