When a board-topper like Jake Slaughter slides to slot 91, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
Green has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The phones were where this weekend was really won.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Adding Myles Garrett by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nothing to complain about; Dillon Thieneman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Eli Stowers at pick 68 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jake Slaughter in No. 91 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jacob Rodriguez at the 98th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jude Bowry a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They liked Jaeden Roberts enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 133. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took DeMonte Capehart at par in Round 4, Pick 37, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for Taylen Green, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 197th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
