Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Zion Logue at No. 227 is 63 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
However the rest shakes out, Oladapo at that price is a win they earned. The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Roman Wilson in the 44th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had cheaper options than Javon Foster at pick No. 113, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Justin Eboigbe at pick 127 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reach for Mason McCormick in the 147th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kitan Oladapo in pick No. 210 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They let Nathaniel Watson come to them and pounced at pick 221. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reach on Logan Lee in No. 225; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A wild overpay on Zion Logue in slot 227, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
